STMicroelectronics releases vibration analysis demonstration board based on the STM8S207R6 MCU and LIS331DLH MEMS
The demonstration board, STEVAL-MKI030V1, detects the vibration of the board and measures the acceleration in all three axis (X, Y and Z), plus tilt and circular motion.

The Syfer X2Y is a 3 terminal EMI chip device for balanced line and twisted pair applications. These filters can prove invaluable in meeting stringent EMC demands, particularly in automotive applications.

The revolutionary design provides simultaneous line-to-line and line-to-ground filtering, using a single ceramic chip. In this way, differential and common mode filtering are provided in one device.

This is an innovative concept that enables a level of filtering to be achieved using a single component in place of two or more conventional devices.

It is ideal for balanced lines, twisted pairs and dc motors, in automotive, audio, sensor and other applications.

Each one of the new devices provides simultaneous line-to-line and line-to-ground filtering. This device from Syfer thus offers a 'system solution' for many filtering applications and could replace a combination of discrete capacitors and inductors; saving significant board space and reducing assembly costs. It also negates the effects of temperature, voltage and ageing.

This 1206 device has a high current capability and is rated for temperatures between -55°C to +125°C. It is available in COG or X7R dielectric types. The 0805 device covers the same dielectric and temperature operating range as the 1206 device. An 0603 type is currently a development item.

In short, Syfer Technology's Balanced Line EMI chip satisfies the need for high speed communications systems using balanced lines or twisted pairs offering low inductance - hence high frequency operation - reduced board space, reduced component count and an unparalleled performance.
